Canyon bottom with sandy/rocky substrate, also near a spring. Pinyon and oak brush with Pinus mon., P. sab., Quercus john-t., Arctostaphylos glauca?, Ericameria linear., Poa sec., Ceanothus greg., Cercocarpus bet., Artemisia tri., etc. on dry slopes above.
Flowering
A fairly common shrub c. 1 m tall, occurring both on the canyon bottom and on the slopes above; fls. greenish.
