Heavily grazed annual (Hordeum murinum) grassland on dry slopes, with patches of Ericameria palmeri pachylepis; young woodland (post 1976) of Parkinsonia, Nicotiana glauca, Ailanthus, etc., with abundant Eremocarpus and Datura, on sandy outwash. Dried, marly, springs with Rosa, Sambucus, Celtis, on slope in NE corner of parcel.

An uncommon 50 cm shrub on dry w-facing slopes; fls. yellow.
