A pure stand, forming a continuous deeply shaded cover. Located at confluence of 3 small drainage channels; no surface water. Young trees present. Grove covers 0.1 acre. There is another larger grove with taller trees 1/4 mile N of this site, in a SE-draining fork of the main canyon.
Trees 50-60 in number, some over 1 feet diameter. Most trees 10 to 15 feet tall.
