The site is located on a ridge. The plot was selected to represent what is a heterogeneous mix of chaparral shrubs. The shrubland vegetation is relatively open with a sparse herbaceous understory and a low shrub understory of Castilleja, Mimulus, and Eriodictyon. The boundaries with the adjacent Adenostoma fasciculatum stand are indistinct. The whole area was burned about five years ago. | Access Database Number (Deprecated): UCD80786
