The vegetation type seems to repeat on N-facing slopes in the lower portion of the reserve. The soil is thin and rocky.
Stand consists of Blue Oak Savannah with an understory of Ceanothus cuneatus, and annual forbs and grasses.
The C. cuneatus is old and decadent and is distributed under the blue oaks across the hillside.
The site is actively grazed by cattle as it has been for the past hundred and fifty years. There are no signs of recent fire (i.e. decadent Ceanothus cuneatus) although the TNC has an active prescribed fire program in the area. | Access Database Number (Deprecated): UCD80777
