The ridge top vegetation is dominated by Quercus douglasii with an understory of large Arctostaphylos viscida interspersed with grassy openings. Many of the manzanitas have been cut on either side of the trail to create a more open understory. The plot is placed in an area that appears to have not been similarly cleared. The area may have been cleared of oaks for firewood during the gold rush. | Access Database Number (Deprecated): UCD80712
