Slope faces west, toward Flyaway Gulch/Creek. Shrub-grassland mosaic with emergent foothill pine. Pinus sabiniana mostly of younger age class, with some fallen trees at edge of plot. Dominant herbs are Brachypodium distachyon and Trifolium spp. Dominant shrubs are Heteromeles arbutifolia and Ceanothus cuneatus. Litter primarily Pinus sabiniana needles.
