Population sample of prostrate to suberect shrubs, sprawling, hanging, rooting along the stem, forming low windswept mounds, extremely variable in Leaf size and shape; mostly on north- and west-facing slopes; associated with Gaultheria shallon, Ceanothus thyrsiflorus, polypodium californicum, Polystichum munitum, and Iris douglasiana. | Access Database Number (Deprecated): UCD50814

There's an error in current coords for this record: 36.36891 -121.59052 +-288m. That's far inland near "Jamesburg" and ~16 air-miles ENE of the location given on the specimen label: "1 mile south of Little Sur River, east side of State Route 1". Using Google Maps to measure 1 mi s. of Little Sur River along Hwy 1, yields something like: 36.32363, -121.89314 . Arctostaphylos edmundsii is a localized coastal bluff endemic w/ type locality within 1 mi of those *corrected* coords.
