United States, California, Subalpine Forest, 1 1/4 miles east of the Tioga Pass Ranger station 10,600 ft., 2 miles northwest of Mt. Dana (13,050). only a few scattered Pinus albicaulis in the area. Specimens collected from the base of a high cliff and at the top of a large talus slope, in moist soil, in association with Cirsium acaulescens and Artemisia norvegica.
