Broad belt of lighter color Pre-Cretaceous crystalline limestone that can be seen from interstate 15. Collected around the canyon and benches, plus the very steep canyon walls to the west of canyon. This west side had a sharp, serrated, darker porphyritic dike along ridge line that cuts across this belt of limestone at an angle of about 90°. There is a roof-less rock building along upper bench of canyon. Lots of trash within canyon (old rusty metal from the mining days to cans and broken glass, etc from more recent dumping). Some beautiful white polished marble, where water had flowed down some waterfalls, during the wet periods. Sparse vegatation of Larrea tridentata, Ambrosia dumosa, Atriplex hymenelytra, and many annuals. Growing along hillside.
