Shrub, 4'-5' tall. Plant has strong intergradation with Ceanothus leucodermis. The stem is light green with white streaks. The leaf shape and size is highly variable, showing characteristics of both proposed parent species which are growing within 3' of the plant. Fruit development is poor, with fruit characters being intermediate between the proposed parents.
