Grassland swales within the chaparral composed of Eriogonum fasciculatum, Adenostoma sparsifolium, Wyethia ovata, Eremocarpus setiger, Bromus hordeaceus, etc. Granitic/gabbroic substrate with a sandy soil; aspect -; slope -.
Annual, 2 1/2' tall. Compact habit, anthers yellow, lower leaves entire to finely toothed. NOTE: This collection represents the first known collection of this taxa within the Peninsular Ranges, outside of the San Jacinto Range. These collections are significant because of their differences with the type description, most notably the FERTILE DISC ACHENES and larger habit (0.1-0.8 m).
