Gregarious in open waste ground
Locally abundant. Calyx and fl. stalks more or less viscid. Corolla lavender with darker veins. Sepals light green, darker along veins, the upper having purple margins. Anthers brown; pollen pale, dull yellow; filaments whitish. Stigmas light, dull purple; style white tinged with olive; ovary light green. Frs. light green, mostly erect, light brown in age. Lvs. a dullish blue-green. Stems, commonly dull red-purple on sides receiving most light, were similarly colored throughout, below and on nodes, above. Radiating from root, stems were semiprostrate to decumbent. With Bromus Willdenovii, Cynodon dactylon, Hypochoeris radicata, Sonchus oleraceus, Anagallis arvensis, and Coronopus didymus.
