Collecting in granitic boulder piles with small narrow washes and canyons. Larrea/Ambrosia scrub with Zylorhiza tortifolia, Krameria erecta, Sphaeralcea ambigua, Psorothamnus arborescens, Gutierrizia sarothrae, and Coryphantha alversonii.
Common on rocky slopes.
