Survey this north drainage to a spring, near 34.30458N 116.99478.Where road 3N97A ends.

Surrounding hillsides just burned the summer before, had burned off chaparral and dead pines. But some fire followers that where flowering at this time are: Lotus grandiflorus, Cirsium occidentale californicum, and Silene verecunda platyota. Open, sandy creek side had Salix lasiolepis, S. lutea, Carex athrostachya, Eleocharis parishii, Poa pratensis, Veronica americana, Scutellaria siphocampyloides. Dry sandy area above creek had a beautiful large patch of Nama rothrockii. Growing in SSW gentle sloping meadow area near springs. Meadow plants that were observed are: Carex praegracilis, C. nebrascensis, Poa pratensis, Cirsium scariosum, Urtica diocia holosericea, Taraxacum officinale, Juncus balticus, Stachys albens, Lupinus lepidus confertus, Lotus oblongifolius, and Achillea millefolium.
