Open, west-facing, steep slope on upper side of dirt road, growing out of crevices in volcanic bedrock; Associated with Avena sp., Bromus tectorum, Cercocarpus betuloides, Clarkia deflexa, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, Galium angustifolium angustifolium, Linanthus floribundus floribundus, Melica imperfecta, Stephanomeria cichoriacea.
